1. Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect your email address and, if you sign in via Google OAuth, your name and profile picture. We also collect usage data such as pages visited, features used, and countries searched to improve the platform experience.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

Provide, maintain, and improve the Nexus platform
Send transactional emails (alerts, report notifications, newsletters you opt into)
Enforce tier limits and manage subscriptions
Analyze aggregate usage patterns (no individual tracking is sold)

3. Data Sources

All friction scores and country data are derived from publicly available datasets (World Bank, UN, WTO, Heritage Foundation, Transparency International, etc.). We do not collect proprietary business data from users beyond their configuration preferences.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL) with encryption at rest and in transit. Authentication is handled via Supabase Auth with industry-standard JWT tokens. We use Row Level Security policies to ensure users can only access their own data.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Supabase — Authentication, database, and edge functions
Vercel — Frontend hosting and edge delivery
Stripe — Payment processing (Premium/Enterprise billing)
Resend — Transactional email delivery

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication session management. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

7. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us. You can delete your account from the Settings page, which removes all associated data.

8. Email Communications

You can manage email preferences from your Settings page. All marketing and newsletter emails include a one-click unsubscribe link. Transactional emails (password resets, critical security alerts) cannot be unsubscribed from.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
